The North Shore

North Vancouver

Overlooking Burrard Inlet and backed by the Coast Mountains is some of the Lower Mainland's best scenery. North Vancouver's waterfront was one of the first on the Lower Mainland to be developed and still remains a very active port area. North Vancouver is a vibrant, diverse and highly livable community in the heart of the rugged North Shore Mountains. Cypress and Grouse Mountain as well as Mount Seymour have contributed to this area's reputation for hiking, fishing, forestry tours, skiing, and mountain biking, including "Shore Riding", a specific style of mountain bike riding that involves handmade ladders, bridges and logs. North Vancouver has great art galleries, shopping, museums, and other cultural amenities in a variety of desirable neighbourhoods. By bridge or catamaran ferry, it's just minutes from downtown Vancouver.
